Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darkness of other people.
Carl Jung
Not for these I raise, The song of thanks and praise; But for those obstinate questionings of sense and outward things, Fallings from us, vanishings; Blank misgivings of a Creative moving about in worlds not realised...

Dark Venice
These images of the Venice carnival taken in 2008 and 2009 are my photographic interpretation of the more mysterious and darker aspects of the human psyche, portrayed by the masked figures of the carnival. I have attempted to reveal what's beneath the surface i.e. the capture of a brief, darker reality by moving the camera at the time of exposure.
I have also self-published a book of these images at www.blurp.com. The book is called 'Dark Venice.'
A panel of 20 of these images was successful in gaining a Fellowship with the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF) in May 2010.
